    Travelers Begin to Crowd Roads, Airports

    Millions of Americans were hitting the road, heading to airports and taking to train stations Wednesday to get home in time for Thanksgiving turkey on what's traditionally the biggest travel day of the year.

    Senior Sunni Leader Killed in Iraq

    BAGHDAD, Iraq - Gunmen wearing Iraqi army uniforms broke into the home of a senior Sunni leader on Wednesday and killed him, his three sons and his son-in-law on the outskirts of Baghdad, his brother and an interior ministry official said.

    Terror Suspect Jose Padilla Indicted

    WASHINGTON - Three years after the Bush administration labeled U.S. citizen Jose Padilla an enemy combatant and denied him normal access to the courts, he's facing criminal charges that he trained as a terrorist in preparation to fight a jihad.

An Arab-American was convicted Tuesday of joining al-Qaida and plotting to assassinate President Bush.     Would-Be Bush Assassin Convicted in Va.

    ALEXANDRIA, Va. - A member of the jury that convicted an American Muslim student of plotting with al-Qaida to assassinate President Bush said she was struck by the man's videotaped confession, in which he laughed and pantomimed the use of an assault rifle.

    TOKYO - Japan's space agency said Wednesday its spacecraft had successfully touched down on an asteroid 180 million miles from Earth despite an earlier announcement that it had failed.

    Shuttle Program Finds Cracks in Tank Foam
