    BAGHDAD, Iraq - A witness exchanged insults with Saddam's half brother, telling him "you killed a 14-year-old boy."  "To hell," the half brother, Ibrahim, replied.  "You and your children go to hell," the witness replied.

    HONG KONG (AP) — Pressure mounted for Hong Kong and Beijing leaders to respond to calls for full democracy in this Chinese territory as tens of thousands of protesters marched Sunday, demanding the right to choose their leaders.

    WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice turned the tables on European critics of tough U.S. tactics in the war on terror Monday, maintaining that intelligence gathered by the CIA has saved European as well as American lives.

    Iran Plans to Build Second Nuclear Plant

    TEHRAN, Iran - Iran plans to construct a second nuclear power plant despite international concern over its nuclear program, state television reported on Monday.

    The French woman who received the world's first partial face transplant is in excellent health and delighted with the result of the groundbreaking operation, her surgeon said.     BAGHDAD, Iraq - Unidentified gunmen abducted a French engineer as he was on his way to work Monday in Baghdad, police said, the latest in a wave of recent kidnappings of Westerners. The gunmen surrounded the man in three cars as the Frenchman was getting into a car outside his home in the wealthy Mansour district of Baghdad.

    Air assault kills Qaeda top plotter

    ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- One of al Qaeda's top five leaders, said to be responsible for planning overseas strikes, was killed by Pakistani security forces, with U.S. help, in a rocket attack near the Afghan border, American and Pakistani officials said yesterday.

    BAGHDAD, Iraq - A Sunni Arab insurgent group was plotting to attack the trial of Saddam Hussein when it resumed Monday, Iraq's national security adviser said Sunday.
