FEDERAL GOVERNMENT:
The United States Constitution
Preamble & Amendments 1-10 (Bill Of Rights)
The Bill of Rights consists of the first 10 Amendments to the United States
Constitution. It is because of this document that all United States citizens enjoy
the freedoms that make us the greatest nation on Earth. It is each and evey
American's responsibility to know, cherish, and defend these rights.
Amendments 11-27
The later amendments added many other cherished freedoms, such as the 13th Amendment forever ending slavery, and the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.
The President of the United States - George W. Bush
For two hundred years, the White House has stood as a symbol of the Presidency, the United States government, and
the American people.
The United States Congress
Each state's two Senators serve 6-year terms.  Representatives serve
2-year terms with representation based on a state's population. The Constitution assigns
the Senate and House equal responsibility for declaring war, maintaining the armed forces,
assessing taxes, borrowing money, minting currency, regulating commerce, and making all laws
necessary for the operation of the government. The Senate holds exclusive authority to advise
and consent on treaties and nominations.
